Tour Highlights
- Full day in the Cotswolds - Burford, Bourton on the Water and Broadway
- Entry to Blenheim Palace Gardens, birthplace of Winston Churchill
Cotswolds
This beautiful area of rolling hills, wooded valleys and unspoilt villages
of honey-coloured stone and thatched cottages. First we visit Burford
deep within the Cotswolds. Here we have time to see its quaint old church,
wander through the picturesque village and stop to visit one of the many
tea-rooms. On leaving Burford we drive through some of the Cotswold's
prettiest villages before arriving at Bourton on the Water.
Bourton on the Water has a small stream running alongside the attractive
main street. If you are lucky you might see one of the parrots that live
in the village. Next, we move on to Broadway. This slightly bigger village
has a number of interesting shops that can be browsed and a selection
of old English Pubs where delicious lunches can be purchased.
Blenheim Gardens
During the afternoon we continue through the wonderful English countryside
until we arrive at Woodstock where we will see the Gardens of Blenheim
Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill. The gardens and grounds were
laid out by the famous Capability Brown in classic English Style.
